Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said he is “not going to go into foreign policy in a way that I don’t think is appropriate for this country.”
The Republican presidential hopeful was responding to Trump’s decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate change accord and the announcement that the U.S. will withdraw from the landmark Paris agreement.
Cruz said the U and other nations must work together to create a world free of “climate chaos.”
Trump has made climate change a major issue in his campaign and promised to sign an executive order in the coming days that will put the U in a position to lead the global fight against climate change.
Cruz’s comments come as a new report from the U,N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change found that the United Nations had made “unprecedented” progress in its fight against global warming.
