Alabama sophomore guard Marcus Paige said he’s still going to miss playing football because of his illness, but he’s optimistic he’ll be ready for the start of the 2017-18 season.
Per ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Paige is currently on a plane from Houston to Atlanta.
He says he’s in good spirits and that his team has a good plan for the week leading up to the opener against Clemson on Oct. 25.
He also said the team is trying to be “a little bit smarter” and get to know each other more before the season starts.
The Tide has played five games this season without a starter and has a 1-2 record against SEC opponents.
They’ll face No. 7 Clemson on Saturday.
